Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a government program that offers free dental benefits worth $1,052 to children aged 0 to 17 who meet specific eligibility criteria.
Your Child Can Be Eligible
This benefit amount is available once every calendar year when eligible children are between the ages of zero and 17 for at least one day within that year. The CDBS assists in covering either a portion or the entire cost of certain essential dental services for eligible children.
Your child can likely get CDBS when all of the following applies:
- they’re eligible for Medicare
- they’re between 0 and 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year
- you or they get an eligible payment at least once that calendar year.
Each January Services Australia will check if your child is eligible for dental benefits and continue to check during the year. If your child is eligible you should receive a letter from Services Australia.
If your Medicare online account is linked to myGov you can check your child’s eligibility online.
